Background

Luca is a Freeski Slopestyle and Big Air specialist representing New Zealand on the world stage. He launched onto the World Cup podium at the start of 2025 and hasn’t shown any signs of slowing down. With five
World Cup podiums (including two gold), a gold and silver X Games medal at his debut appearance, the Freeski Big Air World Championship title and winning NZ’s first Freeski Crystal Globe (Big Air), Luca was
a dominant force on the 2025 competition scene.

Luca Harrington was born into a family of avid freeskiers and learned to ski at a very young age. When he was just 14 years old he competed in his first FIS event and went on to represent New Zealand at the Youth Olympic Winter Games at 16. Holding dual citizenship with the United States—both of his parents are American—Luca splits his time between the two countries for training and living, giving him a unique
international perspective.

Off the slopes Luca enjoys cycling, motorbiking, hiking, playing guitar, frisbee golf, and doing any type of mechanical work. His family lives and runs a property in New Zealand that houses an AirBnb, wedding venue, goats, alpacas, sheep, dogs, and more!

Officially qualified to the 2026 Milano Cortina Olympic Games, Luca is now setting his sights on Olympic
success.
