David Boudia Nominated for AAU Sullivan Award

2012 Olympic Diving Gold Medalist David Boudia has been nominated for the 20132 AAU Sullivan Award, which honors the nation’s outstanding amateur athlete.

Voting is now open for the 2013 James E. Sullivan Award, Cast your vote here. Voting will remain open through March 23. Public voting will count for one-third of the selection process.

Each year, the Sullivan Award honors the nation’s outstanding amateur athlete.

In 2013, Boudia won the silver medal on 10-meter at the FINAWorld Championships in Barcelona, repeating his performance from the 2011 World Championships in Shanghai. With his silver medal, Boudia became the first American man to medal on 10-meter at back-to-back World Championships since 1986.

Boudia also won silver on 10-meter at the AT&T USA Diving Grand Prix in Fort Lauderdale. He became an 18-time national champion after winning titles on 3-meter and synchronized 3-meter (with Sam Dorman) at USA Diving’s Winter National Championships in December.

Boudia’s 2014 season begins this week at the FINA Diving World Series in Beijing, where he and five other divers will compete for Team USA.
